Hermitage man is charged after police chase from Ohio

BROOKFIELD -- A 33-year-old Hermitage man has been charged after a police chase.
John T. Reeher of Todd Avenue was charged Monday in Trumbull County Eastern District Court with receiving stolen property and fleeing and eluding. He is also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, in a separate case.
Southwest Regional police said they apprehended Reeher in West Middlesex after he led police on a chase from Brookfield.
Brookfield police said they attempted to stop a car about 6 a.m. Monday on Sharon-Bedford Road, but the driver refused to stop and led them across the state line.
Police said they caught up with Reeher, formerly of Sharon, on foot on Broadway Avenue near Precision Steel in Farrell shortly after 9 a.m., about 11/2 miles from where he had abandoned the car he was driving.
Police said the suspect abandoned the car in the Habarka Road area and ran into some nearby woods. He is being held in the Southwest Regional Jail in Farrell.
Brookfield police said the unauthorized-use charge stems from a Brookfield woman's giving Reeher her car to use during the weekend and his allegedly not returning. Her car was recovered where the Sharon car was stolen.
