Car slams into disabled vehicle; 2 hurt

MERCER, Pa. -- Two children from Ontario, Canada, were seriously injured when the car in which they were riding slammed into a stopped vehicle on a bridge on Interstate 79 in Findley Township around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Alex Dahlinger, 5, and Eric Dahlinger, 7, both suffered internal injuries and were taken to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
The hospital listed them in fair condition this morning.
State police said the children were riding in a car driven by their mother, Janet Dahlinger, 37, which struck a disabled vehicle that was sitting on the bridge following an earlier accident.
The impact pushed the disabled vehicle into two pedestrians, Bill Allen, 36, and Matthew Allen, 17, both of Meadville, who were standing in the median. Both suffered leg injuries, police said.
Janet Dahlinger suffered minor facial injuries in the crash but her husband, Karl, 38, escaped injury.
