Volunteers needed for April cleanup

WARREN -- The Great American Cleanup is making its way to Trumbull County, and volunteers are needed countywide to transform littered areas.
The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will issue thousands of trash bags for cleanup during April. Bags will be available at local libraries and at the solid waste district office, 2931 Youngstown Road.
Efforts are part of the Great American Cleanup, a grassroots beautification and litter prevention program led nationally by Keep America Beautiful Inc.
The national kickoff is March 24.
Millions of volunteers across the country will plant, paint, pick up trash and recycle. This year's theme is "Extreme Clean Challenge."
More than 8,000 Geauga and Trumbull County residents participated in cleanup efforts last year.
