LIBERTY -- The 21st Annual Cancer Symposium sponsored by Forum Health-Western Reserve Care System features Dr. Martin Rossman, co-founder and co-director of the Academy for Guided Imagery in Mill Valley, Calif. Other presenters will take part.
The theme is "Integrating Complementary Medicine Into the Care of Your Cancer Patient." The event is April 5 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.
The session for doctors and health care professionals begins at 7:30 a.m. and includes a 1 p.m. luncheon. The session for nursing and allied professionals takes place from 2:25 to 5:30 p.m. Participants can attend all day. Continuing education credits are available. Call (330) 740-3574 by March 30.

Senior lifestyle
YOUNGSTOWN -- District XI Area Agency on Aging is promoting the "Food and Fitness: Build a Healthy Lifestyle" message of the 2001 National Nutrition Month campaign. Workshops set
WARREN -- The Warren YWCA and the National Dance Exercise Instructors' Training Association are sponsoring two workshops. An aerobic certification workshop will be at 8 a.m. April 7. A kickboxing clinic will be at 8 p.m. April 8. Call (800) 237-6242 to register.
Red Cross training
WARREN -- The American Red Cross Trumbull County Chapter is offering training programs at its Warren office, including:
*Community First Aid and CPR, from 6 to 9 p.m. April 12, 17, and 19. The cost is $40.
*Child Care Course, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7. The cost is $42.

Hypnosis sessions
YOUNGSTOWN -- The American Lung Association of Ohio Northeastern Branch offers hypnosis sessions for weight loss or smoking cessation. A $50 fee includes the a group session, an audio cassette for home use and a year of reinforcement at any association session.
A weight-loss session will be at 12:30 p.m. April 1, followed by a quit-smoking session at 1:45 p.m. Both are at the Jewish Community Center. Reservations are recommended by calling (330) 792-1215.
Easter Seals equipment
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Downtown Youngstown Lions Club has given Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties $2,546 for the purchase of eight pieces of equipment.
The items include: The Jamar Hydraulic Dynamometer used to determine grip strength; the Flexdisk used for a wide range of motion exercises, four graduated treatment benches for a variety of activities, an object kit used in the evaluation of motor skills in children, a platform swing and a Jump O Lene that used for safe play to increase coordination and balance, a Jettmobile to develop neck, shoulder and arm muscles and the Jenn Swing, a body swing used in therapy of children with disabilities and limited movement.
Slimdown classes
AUSTINTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center will offer Slimdown classes. Evaluations are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 26 at HM Home Care in Austintown, and at 7 p.m. March 28 at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Campus. The eight-week programs begin April 2 and 4. The cost is $100. To register, (330) 480-2233.
Senior drivers course
WARREN -- Humility of Mary Health Partners and the AARP will sponsor a 55 Alive Driver Safety program for motorists age 50 and over. Motorists may receive an insurance discount. Safety program
BOARDMAN -- Safety consultant Connie George will be featured during "Living Safely in a Dangerous World," the topic of Humility of Mary Health Partners' April Women in Touch series. She will discuss avoiding or acting in dangerous situations. Safety items will be available for purchase. The program will be at 4:30 p.m. April 4 at OPUS twenty one, Howland, and April 11 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. The program is at 5 p.m. followed by a meal. The cost is $15. Appearance program
CANFIELD -- The American Cancer Society Mahoning Valley Area Office will host the "Look Good ... Feel Better" program at 6 p.m. March 26. Women undergoing cancer treatment will receive instructions from a licensed cosmetologist and a free makeup bag valued at about $100. Call (888) 227-6446.
Free immunizations
GIRARD -- Free immunizations against childhood diseases will be given to city children at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at city hall. Parents should pick up immunization forms at the health department from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m. before the clinic. To pre-register, call (330) 545-6048.
