A thumb is a terrible thing to squish, as just about anyone who has wielded a hammer can attest. The new Vaughan & amp; Bushnell Blue Max California Framer is designed to greatly reduce the risk of bashed thumbs.
The high-tech hammer features a magnetic nail-holding notch that allows users to get the nail started without having to hold it in place.
Intended for do-it-yourselfers as well as professionals, the Blue Max comes in several different styles and models. The basic CFB 2LM framer retails for about $45 and can be ordered at Home Depot and True Value stores.
