Concert set
NEW CASTLE -- Vocalist Doug Warner will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Alliance Church. Warner has made three albums and sung with the "Old Time Gospel Hour." An offering will be taken.
Interfaith speaker
NILES -- The Rev. Ronald J. Nuzzi will speak for the 35th annual Niles Interfaith Dinner at 6 p.m. April 22 at First United Methodist Church. He is associate professor of the Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education at St. Louis University, editor of the research journal, Catholic Education: A Journal of Inquiry and Practice, and a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.
The Thomas Murphy Youth Award will be presented to a local high school senior. The sponsor is the Niles Rotary Club.

Annual symposium
NORTH CANTON -- Dr. Monika K. Hellwig, executive director of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, will be the featured speaker at Walsh University's 26th Annual Philosophy/Theology Symposium. She and M.J. Albacete, executive director of the Canton Museum of Art, will discuss the Catholic heritage in arts and letters at 7:30 p.m. Friday. After a breakfast at 8:45 a.m. March 24, Hellwig will take part in a panel discussion on Catholic schools
Ladies night
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Grand Ladies Night Out from 2 to 9:30 p.m. March 24 at Stambaugh Auditorium features Bunny Ashe-Wilson, of Pasadena, Calif., a Youngstown native and author, and motivational speaker Delia Roman of Buffalo, N.Y., who uses a wheelchair. Shabbat
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ohev Tzedek-Shaarei Congregation will take part in Shabbat Across America/Canada beginning at 6:15 p.m. Friday that Rabbi Simeon Kolko said allows people to experience "the joy of the Shabbat."
The national effort is an attempt to increase involvement by nonpracticing Jews.
The local event includes the service, a meal, dessert and Jewish storytelling by Shari Della Penna.
Judaism has experienced a decline in involvement by believers. The local Jewish community has about 3,500 members. Rabbi Kolko said he had no local statistics, but the average rate of noninvolvement in other communities averages about 50 percent. About 100 people are expected to attend at the temple.
Rabbi Kolko said that through follow-up conversations with those who attend, he would find out why they lessened their involvement. The Shabbat will include showing people the skills they need to enjoy the holy day, the rabbi said.
Communion celebration
CLEVELAND -- The Northeastern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio will observe their denominations' Jan. 1 accord for full communion with a celebration service at Grace Lutheran Church. Music begins at 2:30 p.m. March 25, and the service begins at 3 p.m. Lutheran Bishop Marcus Miller and Episcopal Bishop J. Clark Grew II will preside.
'Holy City' presentation
WARREN -- The Trumbull Area Lutheran Coalition is sponsoring a Lenten performance of Alfred R. Gaul's "The Holy City" at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The choir includes singers from St. Paul's, St. John, Prince of Peace, St. Mark, Trinity and Living Lord Lutheran churches. The presentation is directed by John W. Kurtz, the director of music at Living Lord.
Concert and revival
YOUNGSTOWN -- Antioch Baptist Church will present the group Humbly Submitted, from Cleveland, in concert at 7 p.m. March 24. An offering will be taken.
The church will also have its spring revival at 7 p.m. March 29 and 30. The Rev. W.V. Green of Galilee Baptist Church of Barberton will be the speaker.
Marriage seminar

Prayer breakfast
LIBERTY -- Union Baptist Church in Youngstown will have its fifth annual Sister-to-Sister Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. April 7 at Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty. Missionary conference
STRUTHERS -- Struthers Baptist Tabernacle will be host of a missionary conference beginning at 7 p.m. Friday with Pastor Bill Trunick, who will discuss a trip to Greenland.
At 6 p.m. March 24, local Holocaust survivor Bill McVey will speak about Passover. He will also speak at 9:30 a.m. March 25.
Ken Baker of Baptist Church Planters will speak at 10:30 a.m. March 25 and at 2 p.m. after a dinner.
Spring concert
HUBBARD -- Johnson Bible College of Knoxville, Tenn., will present its gospel choir at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Corner House Christian Church. The choir performs traditional anthems, a capella spirituals, contemporary gospel music, drama, Scripture and dialogue. An offering will be taken.
Heifer Project
HOWLAND -- Children in Howland Community Church's Sunday school are collecting funds for Heifer Project International. All funds collected will be used to acquire HPI livestock and help train impoverished communities to become self-sustaining. Eastern experience

Club Fusion

Bible Bowl winners
BOARDMAN -- Bethel Lutheran Church's team took first place in the Northeastern Ohio Synod Bible Bowl. The team members are captain Scott Eddy, Elizabeth Zellhart, Lyndsie Hall and Susan Stipanovich. They are directed by Cathi Koehler, youth and Christian education director. Seven teams answered questions about Luke.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ is having three youth-related events.
The church's youth department will present the Robinson Brothers in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
A Youth Explosion with the theme "Family: The Foundation of the Church" is at 6:30 p.m. March 30. There will be speakers, music and a mime ministry.
