EARL R. WILLIAMS, 94



HOWLAND -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Second Christian Church of Warren for Earl R. Williams, 94, of 125 Bonny Shores Drive, Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Howland, who died Thursday in Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Williams was born March 8, 1907, in Akron, a son of Earl and Adda E. Williamson Williams. He lived in the Warren area from 1920 to 1969 when he moved to Florida, returning to Warren in 1976, and then moved back to Florida in 1992.
He had been paymaster for the Mullins Manufacturing Co. and American Standard in Warren. He also had been superintendent of the production department at Taylor-Winfield Corp. and later office manager for United Electrical Contractors in Fort Lauderdale, retiring in 1976.
A member of the church since 1920, he was a member of its Gleaners Class and was deacon emeritus and served as chairman of its building committee for the educational wing in 1958.
He graduated in 1926 from Warren G. Harding High School and in 1932 from Ohio State University, where he played basketball from 1929 to 1931 and was a member of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity.
He was instrumental in establishing the Warren Industrial Athletic Association Fast-Pitch Softball League.
His first wife, the former Justine Ewing, whom he married in 1936, died in 1976.
Besides his wife, the former Eileen Reynolds Harris, whom he married in 1977, he leaves a daughter, Marjorie Ann Yobe of Hubbard; a son, Robert E. of Howland; a stepson, Randolph A. Harris of Purdon, Texas; a brother, Arthur L. Williams of Buena Vista, Colo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A sister, Kathryn Middleton, and a grandson, are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Roberts-Clark Memorial Home, and for one hour before services Monday in the church.
