St. David's Society holds celebration



AUSTINTOWN -- The St. David's Society of Youngstown held its 110th St. David's Day celebration March 3 at Austintown Community Church.
Edward Williams, president, gave the welcome to the traditional gymanfa ganu (song festival), and Dr. John Tamplin was chairman/toastmaster.
The invocation was given by the Rev. David Roberts, and Nelson Llewellyn served as musical director with Kay Tarr as accompanist. Llewellyn also gave a memorial for Laura Kotsol and the benediction.
Poetic readings were given by Robert Ellway, and toasts were given by Flo Daggett and Mary Jane Lewis.
Following dinner, a program was presented by Olen Uselton.
