RICHARD J. HAMILTON, 78



HUBBARD -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church for Richard J. Hamilton, 78, of 1112 Jackson St., who died Thursday morning in Forum Health Northside Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Hamilton was born June 29, 1922, in Cincinnati, a son of Archie and Margaret Sherry Hamilton, and came to the area as a child. He worked for the Howard Johnson Motel on Belmont, and retired in 1987. He previously worked for Loblaw's Warehouse in Youngstown for 17 years.
He was a member of the church, was past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Hubbard Council 2072, and a member and former officer of VFW Post 3767, where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of Northside Club and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, the former Phyllis Ross, whom he married June 16, 1948, he leaves a son, Richard J. Jr. at home; two daughters, Jean DeSantis of Austintown and Joan Dripps of Hubbard; a sister, Nadyne Bartholomy of Hubbard; and five grandchildren.
A son, Robert S., is deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
