Olympic Dreams wins top honors at Buckeye Classic



COLUMBUS -- The Olympic Dreams Gymnastics Training Center Level 4 women's team went undefeated and won the top honors at the Buckeye Classic meet that drew a field of 71 squads.
The Buckeye Classic is the largest women's meet in the United States with over 2,000 athletes in action.
The local team, based in Vienna, racked up 146 points for first place honors.
Kelsi Darby, 7, of Hermitage, Pa. placed first in the vault (8.775 points), first in the balance beam (9.05), first in the floor exercise (9.3) and first on the uneven bars (9.6).
She was first in the all around with a score of 36.775.
Tiffany Connors, 8, of Howland was first on the uneven bars with 9.375.
Jacquelin Sheridan, 9, of Hubbard took first on the uneven bars (9.5) while Taylor Gasser, 10, of Hubbard was first in the all around with 36.3 points.
Samantha Veres, 11, of Sharon, took first on the vault with a 9.3, first on the uneven bars (9.5) and first in the all around (37.25).
The team also won the Ohio Championship in December.
