JULIA JONES, 75



YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church for Julia Jones, 75, of 928 W. LaClede Ave., who died of congestive heart failure Tuesday morning in Boardman Community Care Center.
Mrs. Jones was born June 19, 1925, in Meridian, Miss., a daughter of Rebecca Phillips and William Mitchell, and was reared by her mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Rainy Bloxson.
A homemaker, she was a member of Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Niles, Eastern Star, and Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church. She was previously a member of the Mother Board of New Hope Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Her husband, John C., whom she married in 1950, died Aug. 10, 1962.
She leaves four daughters, Jessie Jones-Sudberry of Youngstown, Rebecca Anderson of Garyville, La., and Jerry Walker and Candy Jones, both of Ann Arbor; three sons, James Jones of Canfield and John Jones and Virgil Nickelson, both of Youngstown; a sister, Mary Alice Northington of Halifax, N.C.; five brothers, Edward, Luke and Raymond Bloxson, all of Meridian, Miss., and William Jr. and Melvin Mitchell, both of Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Joanne Jones, and a son, Calvin Jones, are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before the service in the church. Arrangements are by Howard Funeral Home.
