CLIFFORD D. JENKINS, 81



ANDOVER -- Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Congregational Church for Clifford D. Jenkins, 81, of 125 Center St., who died Wednesday at Miller Memorial Health Care Center.
Mr. Jenkins, who was known as "Gomer," was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Stoneboro, Pa., a son of William and Mary Lowers Jenkins. A lifetime area resident, he was employed more than 22 years as a machine mechanic at Locke Machine Co. Before that, he had been a mechanic for 12 years at the Andover Garage.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater and with the occupational forces in Japan. He was a member of VFW Post 7842 of Linesville, Pa., and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth M. Powell, whom he married Aug. 9, 1941; a son, Richard of Espyville, Pa.; two brothers, Clarence of Jackson Center, Pa., and Richard of Mercer, Pa.; a sister, Lois Franklin of Fredonia, Pa.; and a grandson.
A brother, Michael, is deceased.
