JOHN KMETZ, 84



CAMPBELL -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church for John Kmetz, 84, of 395 Jackson St., who died early Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Kmetz was born April 22, 1916, in Homestead, Pa., a son of John and Anna Dzurasky Kmetz, and came to this area as a child. He retired in 1977 from the seamless mill department of Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co.'s Campbell Works.
A 1934 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, he was a member of the church and a decorated Army veteran of World War II, earning three Bronze Stars.
Besides his wife, the former Audrey MacDonald, whom he married July 21, 1945, he leaves a daughter, Christine Hylton of Youngstown; three sons, Kenneth J. of Lowellville, Dr. John G. of Era, Texas, and Michael K. of Campbell; two sisters, Mary Chuey and Elizabeth McCauley, both of Struthers; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A brother, Michael, and two sisters, Helen Kmetz and Anne Pastrick, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
