GIRARD Pupil comments

Pupils in Diane Budinsky's fifth-grade class have written letters to Mayor James Melfi, commenting on the pollution of the pond at Tod Park. Sewage is leaking into the pond from septic systems along Shannon Road in Liberty Township:
"So, I think you and Liberty Township should spend the money to fix it." -- Billy Shoemaker.
"If affects me a lot because my friends and I love to skip rocks in the pond." P.S. Save the ducks. Thanks for the time." -- Michael Vanoverbeke.
"I love to have picnics by the water, but I am afraid because I think I will get sick." -- Ashley Belcik.
"If you have to raise taxes, I don't mind. I will even make my dad pay with no problem." -- Rocky DeFrank.
"We all miss playing and fishing near the pond." -- Chad Hughes.
