YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Gilead Baptist Church for Annie R. Allen, 78, of 331 W. Ravenwood Ave., who died March 7 in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Allen was born June 14, 1922, in Big Bee Valley, Miss., a daughter of Frank and Susie Sanders Hayes, and moved to the area 41 years ago from Birmingham, Ala.
She was clerk for LaFrance Cleaners and was a member of the church, where she served as president of Angelica Voices of Zion Choir.
Besides her husband, Willie M., whom she married Aug. 25, 1976, she leaves a son, Bobby Ray Sanders of Birmingham; a sister, Lillie Armour of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three brothers, Elessie Hayes of Gary, Ind., and Ernest and Willie Sanders, both of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Four sisters, Willie M., Mary and O'Neil Hayes and Charlie M. Sanders; and four brothers, William, Sammie and Robert Sanders and Frank Hayes Jr., are deceased.
Friends may call an hour before services Friday in the church. Arrangements are by Myron N. Howard Funeral Home.
