LOUIS VARI, 85
MINERAL RIDGE -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rossi Bros. Funeral Home in Boardman and at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown for Louis Vari, 85, of 1688 Laura Lane, formerly of Lowell Avenue, Youngstown, who died Sunday evening at home.
Mr. Vari was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Sagamore, Pa., a son of Gaetano and Mary Chiodi Vari, and came to the area in the early 1920s.
He was a fabricator at Allied Metals for 20 years, retired in 1974, and was a member of the church and East Side Old Timers. He also was a member of the Fruit Street Gang.
He leaves two sons, Louis of Youngstown and Timothy of Warren; two daughters, Elizabeth Hatalsky of Mineral Ridge and Esther Vari of Warren; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Joseph and Nick; and a sister, Amelia Fraile, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
