Jazz and blues concert
YOUNGSTOWN -- Barbara "Silver Fox" Nocho, Eugene Haywood and Tracie Prisby will be the featured entertainers at a jazz and blues concert tonight at 8 in Youngstown Playhouse.
Tickets are $16. Doors open at 7.
Proceeds will go to Kristene Adams, 18, of Youngstown, a leukemia patient who underwent a bone marrow transplant in Cleveland early last week.
The funds, being administered by Sky Bank, will help pay for medical costs and the cost of the girl's grandparents, JoAnn and James Carter of Youngstown, to stay with her in Cleveland.
Contributions may be made to the Kristene Adams fund at the main Sky Bank office downtown.
Getting to know Valley
YOUNGSTOWN -- Leadership Mahoning Valley is sponsoring a program called "Meet the Mahoning Valley" for executives or professionals and their spouses who relocate here.
Participants will learn about issues relevant to the Valley and how those issues affect business and the community.
The event is May 10. Registrations are being accepted through April 26. Cost is $100 per person.
