URSULINE SISTERS History of service

The Ursuline Sisters ministry has offered numerous services to people infected with the HIV\AIDS:
April 1993: The ministry began as a spiritual support group while emphasizing that AIDS has a human face. Thousands of people have attended support group meetings.
June 1994: A nonfood pantry called Angela's Place was established. It hands out about 55 bags of household supplies each month to people infected with HIV/AIDS.
February 1995: The auditorium of the Ursuline Center was transformed into the Guardian Angel Cafe on the third Saturday of every month to provide dinner and social time for people with HIV/AIDS and their caregivers. About 120 people participate a month.
August 1997: A Just for Kids children's program was created to provide extra emotional and social support to help kids deal with their parents' or their own HIV status. More than 70 children visited the program in 2000.
The sisters also offer transportation services to doctor appointments, ministry programs and children's activities and attend speaking events.
