HOWLAND -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Roberts-Clark Memorial Home, Warren, for Kathryn H. Carothers, 90, of 2115 Celestial Drive N.E., who died Saturday in Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, after a short illness.
Mrs. Carothers was born June 16, 1910, in East Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of John and Erma Shaffer Jordan, and had lived here since 1941.
She graduated in 1927 from Mansfield, Ohio, High School and did factory work during World War II.
She was a receptionist and costume designer at James Dance Center in Howland for many years, where she was known as "Grandma" to the dance students and where a memorial dance scholarship was named in her honor.
She was a member of the Degree of Honor Club and Christ Episcopal Church in Warren.
Her husband, Bill, whom she married Sept. 16, 1928, died in 1968.
She leaves a daughter, Carol James of Howland; two sons, Donald of Pleasanton, Calif., and Joseph of Transfer; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A son, Bill Jr.; a brother, Nicholas Jordan; and three sisters, Hannha Gulasky, Dorothy Carrigan and Mary Louise Burnett, are deceased.
Friends may call for an hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren 44483.
