Where: Canton Fieldhouse.
At stake: The winner will advance to the regional final Saturday at 3 p.m. against the winner of the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (22-1)/Jeromesville Hillsdale (23-0) game.
Girard coach: Mike DelBene (fourth season at Girard, 132-90 overall including six years at McDonald).
So far: Greg Morgan scored 18 points as the Indians defeated Campbell Memorial, 58-51, to win the Hubbard district and qualify for their first regional since 1993. First-year members of the Trumbull Athletic Conference, the Indians won tournament games against Brookfield (57-49) and Champion (43-37).

The coach says: "We've been watching [VA-SJ] on tape and they remind us somewhat of Campbell in that they are very aggressive and very athletic. They have a great point guard in Jason Hicks. They do well with offensive rebounds and I think they have a little more talent overall than Campbell. Over the past four seasons, the winner of the Hubbard district has come from the Trumbull Athletic Conference, and that says something about the TAC. Friday's win was very gratifying because the kids leading us are the ones who were freshmen when we took over the program. It makes it look as if what we are doing is paying off."
Scouting VA-SJ: The Vikings needed a last-second putback basket by sophomore Jaycen Harris to defeat Cleveland Central Catholic to win the Kirtland district tournament.
Coach: Dave Wojciechowski, 13-11 in first season after five years as assistant.
Starters: Harris, forward; Jason Hicks, forward; Michael Duncan, junior guard; Calvin Cooper, junior guard; Paul Benjamin, senior forward.
Radio: WKBN-AM 570.
