FARRELL, Pa. -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Adalbert Church for Dominic A. Casaccia, 86, of 1717 Memorial Drive, who died Sunday evening in UPMC Horizon Hospital here.
Mr. Casaccia, also known as "Manco," was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Farrell, a son of Rinaldo and Caroline Menghini Casaccia.
He was a shot blast operator for Sharon Transformer division of Westinghouse Electric for 35 years, before retiring in 1977, and previously worked for American Steel Wire and National Castings, both in Farrell.
He was a member of the church and made dough with its Pirogi Club and was known for his pies. He raised German short-haired pointers.
Besides his wife, the former Stella Gladysz, whom he married Sept. 18, 1937, he leaves two daughters, Carole Calza and Marlene Stofan, both of Shenango Township; a son, Ronald of Farrell; a sister, Nancy Marino of Farrell; a brother, Albert Casacia of Mercer; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
A sister, Kay Marino, is deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home in Sharon.
