REUNION 'Cappy's' baseball bash is Thursday; 59 invited

YOUNGSTOWN -- "Cappy's Crew Grand Slam," the third in a series of reunion-scholarship fundraisers, will be Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at Jolly Joe's Sports Bar & amp; Restaurant.
Headlining the baseball event will be 59 invited guests, almost all of them affiliated with the sport in some fashion, and may attend free of charge.
The public also is invited, and donations are $10, which covers food.
Radio show: Like the previous two events, the bash will be held in conjunction with John Caparanis' radio show on WBBW-AM 1240 called "A Tip of the Cap," which will air from 4-6 p.m.
Some of the invited guests will appear on the radio show.
The event is being coordinated by Caparanis, Mike Cefalde, Bob Guyan and Tod Thorn.
Sponsors are The Lawn Boys, Second Sole, Lou's Beer and Wine, Eagles Silk Screen, Cornersburg Party Shop, The Wine Cellar and Jolly Joe's, Youngstown Class AA League and Austin Manor.
Scholarships: A scholarship fund called Cappy's Crew has been established at Sky Bank. All income raised from the events, and any other donations, will be deposited into the account to provide college scholarships to area student-athletes.
The previous event, called "Cappy's Super Bowl Bash" held in January at Krakusy Club, raised $200 for scholarships.
