Pennells mark 50th anniversary at Timberlanes

AUSTINTOWN -- A dinner celebration was held March 3 at the Timberlanes in Salem in honor of the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pennell, 108 Wilcox Road. Hosts for the event were the couple's children, Richard Pennell of Columbiana, Joan Theis of Austintown and Rhonda Cobourn of Delaware.
Mr. Pennell and the former Dahlia Colasant were married March 3, 1951, at Highway Tabernacle Church where they are members.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired in 1981 after 37 years of service at U.S. Steel Corp. in Youngstown in the transportation department.
Mrs. Pennell retired in 1997 from Nurse's Professional Registry where she was a registered nurse.
Five grandchildren complete their family.
