FUND-RAISER Altrusa to sponsor art auction



Funds from auction of fine arts and sports memorabilia will benefit community service projects.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Altrusa International of Youngstown will sponsor an auction of fine art March 24 at the Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St.
A preview will begin at 6 p.m. with the auction getting under way at 7.
Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, coffee and cake will be served. Door prizes will be awarded. A cash bar also will be available.
The artwork selection may include W. Scott, Gorman, Haenraets, Doolittle, Ebgi, Lena Liu, Shvaiko, Mihanovic, Harvey, Rockwell, Plisson, Behrens, Boulanger, Chagall, Moses, Hatfield, Treby, Delacroix, Schuluss, Weyeth, McKnight, Alvar, Picasso, Wissotzky, Buckels, Agam, Tarkay, Neiman and others.
There also will be sports memorabilia. All artwork is custom-framed and matted. Opening bids are up to 50 percent less than traditional framed gallery pieces.
Proceeds: The Altrusa club is celebrating more than 45 years of service in the community. Funds raised benefit community service projects that include classroom grant program, Youngstown State University English Festival, Fellows Riverside Gardens and the Battered Persons Project at the YWCA.
