MERCER, Pa. -- Private services will be at the convenience of the family at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home in Sharon for DeWayne Edward Sam, 53, of 7266 W. Market St., who died, apparently of a heart attack, Friday afternoon at home.
Mr. Sam was born April 12, 1947, in New Kensington, Pa., a son of Edward and Josephine Ziemianski Sam, and came to the Mercer area in the 1970s.
He worked at Chevron Inc. in Lackawannock Township and was a member of Sts. Peter & amp; Paul Polish National Catholic Church in New Kensington and American Legion of Lower Burrell, Pa.
He was a graduate of Springdale High School, manager for Sharon Little League and a volunteer with the Sharon Midget Football Program. He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
Besides his mother, Josephine Sam Radcliffe of New Kensington, he leaves a son, Clay of Guys Mills, Pa.
