YOUNGSTOWN -- Sheridan Crime Watch meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Clearmount Drive and Hudson Avenue. The speaker is Paul Simms of Ohio Edison, who will discuss the upcoming changes planned for the electric company.
Golden Buckeye signup
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Golden Buckeye Card signup will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Youngstown Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave. Those applying must be Ohio residents age 60 or older or be certified totally and permanently disabled and unable to work at a lucrative job.
Proof of age, residency and-or disablement must be shown.
Cemetery cleanup
YOUNGSTOWN -- Lake Park Cemetery, 1459 E. Midlothian Blvd., will begin removing all Christmas and artificial decorations, and all statues, including angels and crosses, on Thursday. People wishing to keep any of the decorations should remove them before that date.
Students artto be exhibited
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Pew Fine Arts Center Gallery at Grove City College will open for its 12th year March 18 with the Regional Very Special Arts Exhibit.
There will be an open reception for the student artists from 2 to 4 p.m.
The exhibit, which has as its hosted the college and is sponsored by Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, has grown from featuring works by 30 students in 1989 to works by more than 620 students this year. Those students represent 27 school districts in Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties.
Artwork includes painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber, ceramics and computer art. All work is juried and is included in three categories -- juror's choice, honorable mention and group projects.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
