Canfield league plans party

AUSTINTOWN -- The Canfield Junior Women's League will sponsor an American Girl Pastimes Party Encore Program on April 7 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road.
The fund-raiser engages guests in a variety of popular pastimes inspired by the stories of the American Girls Collection.
The event will feature crafts, games and songs that have been passed down for generations. There also will be shadow plays and a slide show highlighting the stories and times of the seven American Girl characters. This year will also include activities of the newest character, Kit Kittredge.
Shows are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m.
What's planned: Cost is $20 per person and includes activity materials, party favors, a light lunch and a tax-deductible contribution.
