SALONIE THACKER, 95

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Metropolitan Baptist Church for Salonie Thacker, 95, of 1020 Crandall Ave., who died Wednesday at home.
Mrs. Thacker was born March 29, 1905, in Dublin, Ga., a daughter of Levi and Susie Carswell Morris, and came to the area in 1930.
A homemaker, she was a charter member of the church, where she was former chairman of its deaconess board and a member of its kitchen staff and senior mission.
Her husband, Truman, whom she married Oct. 25, 1933, died Feb. 22, 1979.
She leaves her legal guardian and caregivers, Rene Newell, Meryl Barret and Kevin Newell, all of Youngstown, and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Levi, Julius and Doshia Morris, and three sisters, Mary Jordan, Essie McNeal and Willie B. Lewis, are deceased.
Friends may call one hour before the service in the church. Arrangements are by Black & amp; Phillips Funeral Home.
