ELIZABETH PUHAK GERCHAK, 83



SHARON, Pa. -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, for Elizabeth Puhak Gerchak, 83, of 1054 Hillcrest St., who died Thursday afternoon in Sharon Regional Health System after being stricken at her home.
Mrs. Gerchak, who was known as "Betty," was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Sharon, a daughter of George and Anna Dzurisko Puhak. A homemaker, she was as member of the church and enjoyed gardening and crafts.
Her husband, Joseph, whom she married Oct. 4, 1947, died Dec. 30, 1979.
She leaves a daughter, Delores Bochert of Austintown; a brother, John Puhak of Masury; three sisters, Dorothy Ernest and Alice Schimes, both of Brooklyn, Ohio, and Margaret Schimes of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mary Adamchick and Anna Karolewski, are deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pustinger Funeral Home, Farrell, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. by the church Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and a prayer service will be at 4 p.m. A prayer service will also be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
