GEORGE WAYMON WATKINS, 70
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at noon Friday at Howard Funeral Home for George Waymon Watkins, 70, of 110 E. Wood St., who died Sunday morning in St. Elizabeth Medical Center after becoming ill at home.
Mr. Watkins was born Feb. 18, 1931, in Gainesville, Ala., a son of the Rev. Charles and Rebecca James Watkins.
He served in the Army and had lived in Texas and Columbus before moving here in 1997 from Detroit, where he was a youth counselor. He worked here as a deliveryman for an auto parts company and was a Baptist.
He leaves two sons, Duane of Austintown and Bernard of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Tammy Maner of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Felicia Morris of Saginaw, Mich.; five sisters, Cremonia Gibson and Mary Brown, both of Saginaw, Anna L. Robinson and Betty Watkins, both of Detroit, and Mattie Pegram of Youngstown; five grandchildren; and his fianc & eacute;e, Donella Jackson of Youngstown.
A sister, Rebecca Jones, and an infant brother are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.
