GEORGE J. FROMMELT, 78



CANFIELD -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church, Austintown, for George J. Frommelt, 78, of 41-4 Parkside Circle, who died early Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Frommelt was born May 11, 1922, in Perryopolis, Pa., a son of John and Anna Voitus Frommelt, and came to this area as a child.
He was a general foreman in shipping and scheduling at Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co., where he worked 40 years, and also worked for General Motors for nine years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the church and its Men's Club, and he was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, the former Harriet J. Degroodt, whom he married July 29, 1944, he leaves three sons, George J. of Austintown, and Barry J. and John P., both of Canfield; two daughters, Lisa L. McCormick and Jane A. Bowman, both of Canfield; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A son, Geoffrey, is deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown.
