GETTING IT RIGHT

On Feb. 14, The Vindicator mistakenly reported that Christopher Lapinski, Canfield, was one of two men who pleaded guilty in a Lawrence County, Pa., court to charges related to a car insurance fraud scheme, that he had admitted his guilt in court, and that he was admitted into a rehabilitative program for first-time offenders. The Vindicator has since learned that Lapinski has not pleaded guilty, nor has he admitted guilt in court. He has applied for admission to the rehabilitative program, but has not yet been admitted. His attorney said that he applied for admission to the rehabilitative program for & quot;the practical purposes of avoiding the remote possibility of a jury conviction and to avoid the significant expenses involved in defending the case. & quot; Charges against him remain pending. He pleaded innocent April 7, 2000. The Vindicator apologizes for the error.
