DOMINIC J. CEROLI SR., 78
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 11 a.m. in St. Brendan Church for Dominic J. Ceroli Sr., 78, of Cortland Health Care Center, formerly of West Heights Avenue, Youngstown, and Norquest Boulevard, Austintown, who died Monday morning at the center.
Mr. Ceroli was born July 23, 1922, in New Castle, Pa., a son of Rocco and Louise DeAngelis Ceroli, and came to Youngstown as a child.
A 1942 graduate of Chaney High School, he was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years before retiring in 1985. He also had owned and operated Dee's Party Shop in Youngstown and later in Austintown, and was a self-employed repairman of typewriters and adding machines for the Underwood Corp.
He was a member of St. Brendan Church and a former member of St. Anthony Church. He also was a member of Disabled American Veterans and the VFW, and was a former member of the Girard American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II who served with the 94th Infantry Division and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
His wife, the former Helen Quintiliani, whom he married June 2, 1947, died Dec. 28, 1995.
He leaves three daughters, Mary Lou Osborne of West Farmington, Donna J. Davis of Romney, W.Va., and Marlene E. Ceroli of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Dominic J. Jr. of Columbus; two brothers, Thomas of Tampa, Fla., and Carmen of Austintown; and eight grandchildren.
Three brothers, Albert, Americo and William, and a grandson are deceased.
