GERALD MARK, 72



YOUNGSTOWN -- Services were Sunday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Los Angeles, for Gerald Mark, 72, of Los Angeles, formerly of Youngstown, who died Friday in Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, Burbank, Calif.
Mr. Mark was born April 28, 1928, in Youngstown, a son of Harry and Sara Pressman Markowitz.
A graduate of The Rayen School, he studied pharmacy at Ohio State University. He was owner of Burbank Tower Pharmacy in Burbank for 25 years.
He was a member of Marina del Rey Yacht Club and member and former president of Glendale IDS Diving Club. He was the founder of Transplant for Life, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness of organ and tissue donation in the interfaith religious communities in the United States.
Besides his wife of 52 years, the former Joanne Truxton, he leaves a son, David, and a daughter, Leslie Mark, both in California; a brother, Geraldine Santer in Texas; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Mount Sinai Mortuary.
