YOUNGSTOWN -- Two former professors at Youngstown State University were awarded the university's highest honor, the Heritage Award, at a dinner Friday evening on campus: the late Thomas Gay, a former English professor who founded the YSU English Festival, and Hugh G. Earnhart, a former history professor and founder of the university's oral history program. Eleven retirees and 24 staff members with more than 10 years of service also were honored at the dinner.
