There is only one Division II opponent on the 2002 Youngstown State football schedule. The Penguins will open the season against Clarion on Aug. 29, a Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., but the other three non-conference games are all I-AA -- McNeese State, Florida Atlantic and Samford. YSU will play six home games, including Gateway Conference contests with Indiana State, Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois.
