YOUNGSTOWN Downtown redevelopment
The Youngstown Central Area Community Improvement Corp., the city's downtown redevelopment agency, handled these items Tuesday:
Introduced the agency's new executive director, Robin Rogers, who started a month ago, to the full board.
Awarded AMPCO Parking a contract to run four CIC-owned parking lots for a 5 percent management fee, based on annual revenue. USA Parking was the other bidder. USA sought a 10 percent management fee.
Announced that bids will be sought for janitorial, property management and security services for the George V. Voinovich Government Center. Bidding was to have been done months ago but ran into delays.
Announced that the agency hopes to hear from Mahoning County in the next two or three weeks about a CIC proposal to build a new office for the Children Services Board on the former Master's block downtown.
Announced the new CIC office in the Voinovich Center, the last remaining space in the building, should be ready Dec. 10.
