VOLUNTEERS New Castle Blitz Build

What: Three homes are being built in one week in New Castle as part of the Lawrence County Housing Starts Program for low- and moderate-income people. The homes will be sold to people who have taken homeowner classes and qualified for low-interest bank loans.
When: April 9-13
Where: Emery Street, New Castle.
Who: Hosanna Industries, a Christian-based home building organization, is looking for volunteers. Skilled tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers and drywall crews, are still needed. General labor volunteers are also being accepted, but not as many are needed.
How: All volunteers must contact Mike Killian at Hosanna Industries before the blitz build by calling (724) 770-0262. Orientation meetings are planned the week before construction.
