Q. I'm 17 and I've been going out with a girl I met at school for two months now. But I get the feeling that she might be cheating on me. She's not as available to see me as usual, and I think she's kind of less interested in me now. She's a little bored when we talk, and she's always talking to this other guy at our school. What should I do? --Jealous guy.
A. Ask her what's going on.
Why don't people like to ask questions? We just assume, assume, assume, come to conclusions and make ourselves miserable.
Cheating is such a harsh word; for all you know, your girlfriend could be really busy with school, work and family stuff. And, yes, maybe she is bored with your relationship and wants to move on. The only way you're going to find out is by having a conversation with her.
You probably weren't shy when you first asked her out. Don't be shy now when you need to communicate with her. Communication is the basis for all healthy relationships. Open your mouth. You may not like what she has to say, but at least you'll know what's going on.
