CLEVELAND -- The first of several big parties this year at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will be a Mardi Gras Masquerade at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9. The event, which is for patrons ages 21 and older, will offer music by Lil' Brian and the Zydeco Travelers, finger foods and Mardi Gras beads. A cash bar will be available.
Tickets will go on sale Monday for $50 each. After Jan. 26, the price will increase to $55. Call Ticketmaster at (800) 493-7655.
The Hall of Fame will also throw a Casino Lounge Party in April; a Club-Rock Style Party in July; and its annual Rock Hall Ball in October.
Britney, 'Rings' lead Internet searches
HOLLYWOOD -- Britney Spears is the queen of the Internet, according to searches on America Online, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves and Lycos.
The young pop singer had the highest number of searches on all of those Internet search engines. Others on the search list include Pamela Anderson, Jennifer Lopez, Martha Stewart, Oprah Winfrey and Eminem.
Movies searched for the year include in order of most-searched: "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "Pearl Harbor," "Planet of the Apes" and "The Fast and the Furious."
