YOUNGSTOWN -- A solo recital by guest percussionist Anthony DiSanza will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in Bliss Recital Hall at Youngstown State University.
DiSanza will also teach a master class on solo percussion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in Bliss Hall Room 2322. Both events are free.
An active international performer and educator, DiSanza earned a bachelor's degree in music education from YSU and his master's in percussion performance from the University of Michigan. He is an assistant professor of percussion at University of Wisconsin in Madison and principal percussionist with Madison Symphony Orchestra.
Deadline extendedfor 'Marriage' tickets

'Poetry of Sport'features Steelers stars
PITTSBURGH -- Steelers running back Jerome Bettis, former player Lynn Swann and sports commentator Myron Cope will participate in "The Poetry of Sport," an evening of readings at 8 p.m. March 15 at Carnegie Music Hall. International Poetry Forum has invited several professional and former athletes to read sports poems by Ogden Nash, Shel Silverstein and the late Roberto Clemente. Irish show at Ursuline
YOUNGSTOWN -- Cahal Dunne's "Grand to Be Irish Show," Gary Latshaw singers and dancers and Theresa Burke Irish Stepdancers will perform at the 27th Annual Irish Show by Ursuline High School Alumni Association. Midyear show at Butler
YOUNGSTOWN -- Slides and fees are due by March 22 for the 66th National Midyear Show at Butler Institute of American Art. Artists age 18 and older may submit up to three entries each. Fee is $25 per entrant. The juror will be Jerry Berger of Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Mo. A total of $10,000 in cash and purchase prizes will be awarded. Charity premieresfor new 'Star Wars'
Anakin Skywalker is doing his bit for charity.
"Star Wars: Episode II -- The Attack of the Clones" will premiere May 12 in 11 cities to raise money for children's programs. At each premiere, some theater seats will be reserved for disadvantaged children.
"Throughout the years, 'Star Wars' films have entertained generations of children," George Lucas, creator of the films, said in a statement on the movies' Web site. "I'm delighted that these premieres will provide an opportunity to benefit the children who need it the most."
Cities where charity premieres will be held are Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Washington.
The movie, introducing Hayden Christensen as the young-adult Skywalker, opens commercially May 16.
'Big Brother' wannabesmay make application
If you're interested in being locked in a house for three months with people you probably wouldn't choose to hang out with, having no contact with the outside world and having your every breath and inane, bored utterance dissected by millions of TV viewers, CBS wants you.
The network is taking applications for "Big Brother 3," the latest installment of its reality series in which all the conditions laid out above apply. As incentives, CBS offers a $500,000 cash prize to the winner and a chance to be in front of the camera for the duration of the time contestants remain in the house.
Applications are available at CBS.com. Would-be contestants also have to send two color photos of themselves and a two-minute video explaining why they should be on the show. All materials are due April 5.
