Osteoporosis screenings
CANFIELD -- Free bone density tests, which screen for osteoporosis, will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Labor Day in the Youngstown State University tent at the Canfield Fair.
YSU's tent is located near the south end of the grandstand. The screenings, which normally cost about $40, are being supported by a grant that Dr. Joan Boyd of the university's Department of Health Professions received and by various pharmaceutical companies.
End of boil-water alert
NORTH JACKSON -- Water customers who live west of Meander Reservoir off Mahoning Avenue can stop boiling their drinking and cooking water, the Youngstown Water Department said. A water main break last week at Mahoning and Lipkey Road forced repairs and necessitated the boil-water alert.
