Junior League District Tournament (ages 13-14)
Boardman 15, Brookfield 5 -- Jeff Olenych and Zach Smith combined to toss a four-hitter. Olenych struck out four batters in his three innings. Smith struck out three batters and drove in three runs with a hit and a sacrifice fly. Josh Kershner led Boardman's offense with three hits including a triple, four runs scored and two RBIs. Ken Kelso's three hits included a double and drove in four runs. For Brookfield, Aaron Prezgay's two hits included a double.
District 2 Little League Tournament (ages 11-12)
Campbell 9, Niles 3 -- Mark Turnbull and Robert Switka each homered. Drew Skelley had two hits and Frank Sferra drove in two runs to pace Campbell. Mike Kelly led Niles with two hits, one a home run.
Poland 12, Columbiana 1 -- Matt Pitzulo hit two doubles while Wes Wagner, Tim Dennison and Kevin Koval each had two hits. Mark Carlozzi scattered four hits to pick up the win. Ryan Williams led Columbiana with a double.

BABE RUTH PLAYOFFS (ages 14-15)
Line Drive 14, Commercial Neon 6 -- Brett Dutton had five runs batted in while Jesse D'Amico added three. Brian Daugherty homered.
Line Drive 13, Commercial Neon 3 -- Mike Bartos pitched a five-inning victory. Marc Rossi had three hits and four RBIs, Brian Daugherty had two hits and Dom Modarelli doubled.
East Side Kiwanis 4, Sluggers 3 -- The Sluggers walked in the winning run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to hand Kiwanis the win. John Warren pitched a complete game, scattering five hits. Jim Kriebel tripled while Matt Savon and Warren had RBI singles. For Sluggers, Tyler Stanley doubled and Ryan Hamilton had an RBI single.
East Side Kiwanis 10, Sluggers 6 -- Kiwanis took advantage of Sluggers' mistakes to come out on top. Derek Baker pitched a complete game, allowing 10 hits. John Warren and Matt Savon had three hits while Matt Backes added two. For Sluggers, Lou Kopachy doubled and singled. Tyler Stanley and Josh McKenney added two hits apiece while A.J. Pulice doubled. Today at 6 p.m., Line Drive Academy (24-2) will face East Side Kiwanis (20-6) at Borts Field in the best-of-three championship series.
GIRLS SOFTBALL
District 2 Little League (ages 11-12)
Canfield 21, Springfield 0 -- Lauren Sulick pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Bryanne Halfhill led Canfield's offense with three hits.
