BOARDMAN -- October is Lupus Awareness month and the YWCA will be at the Southern Park Mall from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday to answer questions. People who suspect they may have the disease can fill out an assessment. Door prizes will be awarded. For information call (330) 746-6361.
Library hours
HUBBARD -- The public library will have the following hours of operation next week because of construction: Sunday, closed; Monday through Friday, 12:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Oct. 27, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Oct. 28, 1 to 5 p.m. Regular hours will resume Oct. 29.
Pumpkin carving
GIRARD -- Pumpkin carving instruction will be offered at the public library Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. for pupils in grades four through seven. Call the library at (330) 545-2508 by Thursday to reserve a pumpkin.
Harvest Fest
NEWTON FALLS -- The public library's Harvest Fest will be Oct. 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Carved-pumpkin owners will be eligible for a chance to win a prize. Call (330) 872-1282 for more information.
Halloween party

Hungarian Harvest
ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- The annual Hungarian Harvest Dance will be from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Hungarian Home, 4 First St. Music will be by Dorothy and Company. Admission is $5. For details, call John Takacs at (724) 752-6658.
