'Real World' speakers
YOUNGSTOWN -- Don't go to "Skinny Legs & amp; Everything" expecting MTV "Real World" alumnae to gossip about their housemates. Kelley, from "Real World 9" in New Orleans, and Becky, from the first "Real World" show in New York, will talk at noon Tuesday in YSU's Chestnut Room, Kilcawley Center. They will give first-hand accounts of how women are stereotyped in the media and in life, the pitfalls of alcohol and drugs and the reality of depression. Their tough but humorous discussion is ultimately uplifting.
Kelley and Becky are appearing again on MTV in installments of "Real World/Road Rules Extreme Competition 2002," which airs Monday nights.
Touring with 'Aida'
Youngstown native Levensky Smith is in the ensemble of the Broadway tour of "Aida" by Elton John and Tim Rice.
Smith, a 1989 graduate of East High School, has performed on Broadway in "Cats" and in the original cast of "The Lion King." He also performed during the Summer 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
"Aida" is playing at Benedum Center in Pittsburgh through March 10. The tour will relocate to State Theatre in Cleveland from March 12-24.
Joining orchestra
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Shenango Valley Chorale will join Greenville Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's "Symphony in D Minor, No. 9" at 8 p.m. Saturday in William A. Passavant Center at Thiel College. Dr. Richard Konzen of Grove City College will direct the orchestra. The chorale will be led by Edgar S. Groves. Soloists will be soprano Nora Drake of Greenville; contralto Susan Shafer of New Wilmington, Pa.; tenor Bernard Crespi of Enon Valley, Pa.; and baritone Brian Ocock, formerly of New Wilmington. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Film festival feature
Filmmaker Glenn Gaylord, formerly of Liberty, will have his latest film shown at the 26th Cleveland International Film Festival. Gaylord's "Boychick" will be included in the Gay and Lesbian Shorts presentation at 2:45 p.m. March 15 and at 7 p.m. March 16.
More than 100 new, short, animated and classic films will be shown from March 14 to 24 at Tower City Cinemas on the Avenue at Tower City Center. 'Angels' canceled
YOUNGSTOWN -- Casting difficulties have led to the cancellation of The Actors' Project of Youngstown's production of "Angels in America: Parts One and Two." The next show will be a fully staged production of the Greek tragedy "The Trojan Women" by Euripides at 3 p.m. March 17 and 24 in McDonough Museum of Art installation gallery at Youngstown State University. The Actors' Project will team up with Seraphim performing arts ensemble to present "A Night of Greek Tragedies" at 8 p.m. March 16 at Boardman Masonic Temple, 8387 Tod Ave. The evening will consist of "The Trojan Women" by The Actors' Project and the opera "Dido and Aeneas" by Seraphim.

Annual art exhibition
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Artists who live with 100 miles of Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts may enter the 28th annual Hoyt Regional Art Exhibition, which will be displayed from May 14 to June 14. The theme is "Art of the Pittsburgh Countryside." Juror will be Akiko Kotani, a fiber artist and professor emeritus at Slippery Rock University who is in charge of Pennsylvania Humanities Council's new arts initiative.
