CANFIELD -- Haus Cider Mill on West Calla Road was presented the award of excellence in the Ohio Fruit and Vegetable Growers Congress annual cider contest. Haus presses 50,000 gallons of cider per year, using several apple varieties and pasteurizing the product before sale.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Richard D. Parker, a Youngstown native and medical doctor now living in Chagrin Falls, has been accepted as a member of the American Orthopaedic Association. He is head of sports medicine, medical director of sports orthopedic rehabilitation and a staff physician in the division of pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland. He also serves as clinical instructor in the department of orthopedics at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Parker has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Walsh College in Canton and a medical degree from Ohio State University and did his residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland.
