LIBERTY -- Junior Military Band's Concert Wind Ensemble will play new concert band music and holiday songs at 8 p.m. Saturday in Liberty High School auditorium, Shady Road. Conductors are Chris Foster and Jonathan Willis. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and free for children under age 18.
Kabul Zoo donation
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Zoo & amp; Aquarium will donate $2,000 to war-torn Kabul Zoo in Afghanistan. Zoos throughout the world are heeding the call to help Kabul Zoo, where under Taliban control a male lion was blinded in one eye by a grenade and other animals have been shot or killed for food. Brooke Hospital, an animal welfare organization in Pakistan, will assist in getting money, food and veterinary supplies to Kabul Zoo. 'Cats' in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH -- Opening night for "Cats" at Heinz Hall will be Jan. 2. A performance that was scheduled at 8 p.m. Jan. 1 has been canceled, Pittsburgh Broadway Series has announced. Hank Azaria, who played the dog walker in "Mad About You" and supplies a chorus of voices for "The Simpsons," has gotten a sitcom of his own. "The Hank Azaria Show," in which he plays a TV writer with an active fantasy life, will debut 8 p.m. Jan. 8, on NBC. The versatile Azaria, an Emmy winner for "The Simpsons" and the TV movie "Tuesdays with Morrie," is also an executive producer of the new comedy.
