Haunted Hotel: Hotel Conneaut, built in 1894, Crawford County. Half of it was destroyed by fire in the early 1940s. Two guests, a couple on their honeymoon, were trapped inside. The groom escaped, but his wife died in the fire. "Bride Elizabeth" is said to roam the halls of the hotel. To book a room, call (814) 382-5115.
Train ride: Haunted Train Express through Oct. 26 on the Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad between Oil City and Titusville in Venango and Crawford counties. Information at (800) 348-9393.
Pittsburgh: This Friday and Saturday are the last nights of Phantom Fright Nights at Kennywood Park. The event includes three haunted mazes, a scary midway and some of the park's more popular rides. Tickets are $17.50. Call (412) 461-0500 or visit www.phantomfrightnights.com.

Mining: The Seldom Seen Mine in Cambria County. In October 1901, six masked men invaded a farmhouse outside of Patton, binding, gagging and robbing the family there. Rumor has it that they then tried to bury the loot in the Seldom Seen Mine and were buried alive in a cave-in. Some say they can still be heard in the mine. Centre County: Bellefonte will host the "Fall Festival of Governors" Oct. 26-27. Visitors can take a lamplighter tour through the historic streets, stopping at homes to hear ghost stories told by "governors of days past." Laser show: Jesse's Dream Park in Sigel features the Mysterious Maze, an indoor, completely dark maze with dazzling laser and strobe lights.
Jim Thorpe, Pa.: Murder Mystery Weekends set in the Henry Packer Mansion, which was used as the model for the haunted mansion at Disney World. The historical mysteries center on the Packer fortune, amassed on the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Visit www.murdermansion.com or call (570) 325-8566. While in Jim Thorpe, visit the Old Jail where four accused Molly Maguires were hung in the main cellblock June 21, 1877. Come see the handprint one man left on the wall just before he was hanged. Spookfest Weekend: Nov. 1 through 3 at the Pocmont Resort and Conference Center in Bushkill. The weekend includes a spooky cocktail party and Broadway-style show Friday and a dinner theater with a mysterious comedian and a masquerade ball Saturday. For information, call (800) 762-6668.
