NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts is seeking artists to fill slots in the 2003 Mid-Atlantic Region exhibition schedule. The Mid-Atlantic Region consists of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and New York.
Photography, printmaking, ceramics, painting and all mediums of an architectural theme are sought. Artists should sent 12 slides, a self-addressed stamped envelop and a $25 entry fee by Jan. 15 to: HIFA, 124 E. Leasure Ave., New Castle, Pa. 16101.
Orchestras to perform
BOARDMAN -- Light classical, popular and patriotic music will be performed by three Boardman High School orchestras at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Boardman Symphony Orchestra will begin the concert with the National Anthem. Vocalist will be senior Matt Dunch. Boardman Classical and Chamber orchestras will also participate.
Boardman PTA will serve spaghetti dinners that day, beginning at 4 p.m. Dinners are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 12 and under, and include free concert tickets. Concert-only tickets are $3 for adults, $1 for students and free to senior citizens and preschoolers.
Annual dinner theater
SHARON, Pa. -- Reservations are being taken for An Olde English Feaste, the annual dinner theater in the round by Shenango Valley Chorale Madrigal Singers. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 through Dec. 2 at Tara, A Country Inn on state Route 18 in Clark, Pa.

Tubists needed
NILES -- Tubists are sought for the third annual Tuba Christmas concerts at noon and 2 p.m. Dec. 1 in Eastwood Mall's main concourse. Tenor and bass tuba players will be conducted by Wesley O'Connor, band director with Boardman schools, and John Turk of Youngstown State University Dana School of Music.

Gund increases security
CLEVELAND -- People who attend Neil Diamond's concerts Sunday and Monday at Gund Arena will be among the first to experience heightened security measures in light of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Concert goers should arrive early because there will be security checks, Gund management has announced. Fans will not be admitted with backpacks, large bags, sealed packages such as gifts for performers, cameras, video recorders or similar electronic devices.
Style show, luncheon
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Friends of Hospice and the Aid Association for Lutherans are having their second annual style show and luncheon from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the McGill Center.
