Top French film
With a box-office take of more than $20.8 million, "Amelie" has become the highest-grossing French-language film released in North America. The 2001 film, starring Audrey Tautou and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, surpasses 1978's "La Cage aux Folles" with $20.4 million, Miramax Films, citing figures from Entertainment Data Inc., said.
Life threw her a curve
"Enterprise" star Jolene Blalock used to be a geek growing up, but she got over it.
"Kids are really mean in school," Blalock told reporters, "and you take it to heart.
"Then you grow up one day. Your skin gets tough, and you realize 'I'm not going to take it to heart' because you find little special things about yourself that you do like.
"It's all a long path of erosion, but finally you get there. Then you realize 'Hey, I'm not so bad."'
She was "thrown" into a drama class in the sixth grade because it was for "girls who couldn't be cheerleaders."
Now all that has changed. Blalock is a pinup cutie among "Star Trek" fans.
What happened? She says her image changed when her curvy body matured.
Ozzy, but not Harriet
MTV's new reality series is a comedy documenting the day-to-day lives of aging rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his family.
"The Osbournes" debuts March 5. Production began in September and is still going on today.
The show is a quasi-spinoff of "Cribs," in which the Obsournes were profiled living at home.
The segment was so popular that MTV asked the Osbournes if they would like to have their home life documented for a weekly series.
The Osbournes consist of Ozzy, his wife, Sharon, their 17-year-old daughter, Kelly, and 16-year-old son, Jack.
Amy, Ozzy's 18-year-old daughter, didn't want to participate. She's a singer living on her own in Los Angeles.
"She wanted to stand on her own," Ozzy explained.
"I didn't know we had an option," Jack deadpanned.
